Week 6 ( 2 caps at breakfast 2 caps at lunch, 2 caps at 4:00pm and you should be on your way.

Vitamins /minerals

I like to have these following:

Cod liver oil ( flavored or regular) 1 teasp. 2 times a day

(20,000 IU to 2000 to reach your vitamin A level cod liver oil also gives you a good amount of vitamin D for babies bone structure and boosts your immune system.

Magnessium – 500 mg day ( this is usally extra added to a nice mulit)

B -12 sublingual 1000 mcg daily

Folic Acid – 800 mcgs daily ( see your multiple to know how much to add)

Vitamin E added to your multi ( adds for uterine strength)

A good multiple vitamin on top of all of this.

What about iron??

I do not like to supplement iron as it can be toxic in high levels. If you are blood diagonssed with a diffecency then it would be suggested to add to this other wise what you have in your mutitple should be enough.

A word on prescription prenatals

I do not like them as they often contain too much iron and not enough B’s and to much calcium, I like to get my calcium from foods and the cod liver oil to make sure the mother is absorbing them.

They often add stool softner to the vitamins to compensate the larger amounts of iron that they add. This leads to constipation and then cramping and a day of the softner doing it’s trick.

Foods  ( taken from Weston A . Price Foundation as It is the best advice I could not give any better)
